- Replaced the motor with a 2.8 twin plug built by an engine specialist (also rebuilt our Carrera 2)
- RSR pistons with later style valves and massaged cams (nothing radical)

- The injection pump was rebuilt at the same time with the electrodyne crank fire ignition
- Larger throttle bodies to accommodate the increase in power
- The 5-speed 901 transmission was rebuilt 2x, the first time with LTD SLIP and all new synchros
The second time with everything: bearings, the works, also the clutch
- External oil cooler in front bumper with air passage exit in bottom of the car
- Full headers and stainless exhaust which I modified slightly for a little more power and a better sound (but not obnoxious)
- Special coupler made for the shifter, and I never saw a tighter shifter as these old 901’s can be a challenge
- Sent to a 914 specialist for the suspension work which included rear springs, Konis all around, totally adjustable front and rear - 21 mm master cylinder - 930 tie rod and stiffer bushings - bigger front sway bar - seats with adjustable backs (with a hand air bladder pump for comfort) - 2 harnesses (4 point)- repainted several years ago and when you look at the picture you will notice that there is a subtle flair on the rear wheel wells - upgraded rocker panels - custom scalloped (helps with rust prevention)
